JAPAN

Our large corporate customer needed items from all over the United States consolidated into one facility, to be stored until all items were received. Once all the items were received, they needed to be put into a container, blocked and braced with heat treated wood and sent overseas to Japan to be delivered to a Naval base. We brought everything into our Chicago based facility, inventoried every piece and alerted the customer as to when everything was on-site. Once we had the arrival date for Japan, we set up everything from ordering the container and getting all the shipping documents into place for delivery to the Naval base in Japan.

PRIMITIVE

Our customer had designed the interior of a client’s home in Arizona. We had product in NC, NV and IL that all needed to matched up in AZ for delivery on two planned days. Our customer and crew were flying out to set up the home and their clients were going to be in town those days as well. We had a truckload of items in NC, a truckload of items in IL and three skids in NV. Total value for the items was immense. To ensure everything went as planned, we sent an employee (at our cost) to oversee the delivery and help out wherever needed.

SATELLITE

This case study was an 18 month long satellite move. We had a customer that was building a satellite for Mitsubishi and the satellite was being built at all their various locations. Each location had particular parts to build and the satellite needed to be moved to each location as they completed certain phases of the construction. Each time the satellite needed to be moved, they required a temperature controlled trailer with a side door and an engineer to follow the trailer and stop every 100 miles for the engineer to make sure the satellite was not in jeopardy. These moves were from IN to IN, NY to NY, IN to NY, NY to IN, IN to CO and CO to NY. Once the satellite was completed and all testing was successful, we needed to move the entire unit to the airport. Upon arrival at the airport, the driver had to wait 18 hours, until the plane that was transporting the satellite overseas arrived, in order to keep the satellite in a temperature controlled environment.

RETAIL STORE ROLLOUT

We had a customer that was making extremely fragile fixtures for their retail client. This fixture was going to be utilized by 625 stores that needed it within a two-week time frame, from pick up through delivery; making this store fixture move too complicated for them to handle alone. Product was arriving in the stores and this fixture needed to be there before that product. The primary issue for our customer was getting this fragile fixture to the stores without it being damaged, because the underside of the fixture was completely open. Our solutions team designed and built a custom skid just for this fixture. They also created an SOP for how to put the fixture on the skid and how to remove it from the skid without damage. We delivered the 625 skids to them, so when the fixtures were completed, they had them. They also used our custom skids in their warehouse to move this fixture throughout the assembly process during production. Once the fixtures were completed, we setup all the trucks to retain them from our customer and then made deliveries to all the stores on time. All their retail client had to do was wait for delivery information. This ensured no damage, no problems, and very big success.
